Cindy Tian is President, Burson-Marsteller China. She advises clients on a broad range of communications areas, including government relations, issues and crisis management, corporate communications, corporate positioning, CEO positioning and corporate responsibility. Cindy's clients span a wide range of industries including energy, chemicals, oil and gas, telecom and IT, insurance, banking and payment cards.
 
Cindy served as a career diplomat for nearly 10 years in the mid-1980s through mid-90s, focusing on cultural exchanges and external communications with overseas postings with the Consulate General of the People's Republic of China in Houston, Texas, USA and the Chinese Embassy in Trinidad and Tobago.  She was among the first group of external communications professionals trained by the Chinese government.
 
Cindy is a Council Member of the China International Public Relations Association.
